Profession Tax

Profession Tax is a state-level tax levied on individuals earning income through employment, profession, trade, or business. It is applicable in certain Indian states and is collected by the respective state governments. Both salaried employees and self-employed professionals (like doctors, lawyers, and chartered accountants) may be liable to pay it. Employers are responsible for deducting and remitting the tax on behalf of their employees.
